Symptoms
Symptoms of OCD include obsessions and compulsions. These can cause distress and interfere with the person’s daily routine. Obsessions – worry and anxiety take over the person and it can include contamination by germs or dirt, self-harm or hurting others, fear of losing things, fear of being responsible for any small thing, thoughts about inappropriate activities, and getting concerned about offending god. Compulsions – not every repetitious behavior is a compulsion. People use their bedtime routines to help them manage themselves. Compulsions include washing and cleaning, mental compulsions like reviewing a single event, again and again, repeating activities, hand washing, and monitoring the body for symptoms again and again.
